The Physiotherapy Pain Association (PPA) published the above Specialty Standards in 1998. Despite a stated intention to review these yearly, this has not happened. This is because, in 1999, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) started work on revising the "Standards of Physiotherapy Practice." Early work involved the PPA and draft Specialty Standards were written for the consultation.
The generic "Standards of Physiotherapy Practice" were subsequently published in 2000 by CSP. However, discussion continues on the need for additional Specialty Standards. Whilst this is being resolved, the PPA document posted here will not be reviewed.
